A Witch in the Kitchen: “Orange Cookies Without Butter or Oil”

Hello Dear Witches…!

Time without bringing you my beloved cookies, the delirium of my brother and My Mathias, well also mine, to deny it. This afternoon while my son was sleeping I prepared myself to prepare some delicious orange cookies, and for a change I didn’t have the complete ingredients hahaha, for playing steemmonsters I forgot to buy butter or oil.

I immediately remembered the words that my father always says to me “You are an engineer, so eat them” and that was just what I did to make the delicious biscuits that I had offered to Mathias, at the end of the day he doesn’t dislike zero fat biscuits hahaha.

This is a recipe that I like, very simple, with few ingredients and little cooking time, a total wonder, ideal for when they call you telling you that in 1 hour comes visit your home and you have nothing to offer. But come with me and I’ll show you how easy this preparation is, Enjoy! .

  • 150 g sugar
  • 250 g all-purpose wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp sodium bicarbonate
  • 2 Eggs
  • Cortex of 1 orange
  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • Difficulty level: Low
  • Preparation Time: 10 Minutes
  • Baking time: 10 Minutes
  • Time Total: 20 Minutes
  • Yield: 30 Biscuits.

To begin, grate the orange peel and mix it with the sugar, with the help of a spoon, so that the sugar absorbs the oils of the orange peel, thus giving more flavor and aroma to our biscuits, continue adding the two whole eggs and beat well until the sugar dissolves.

Once the sugar has dissolved with the eggs, add the vanilla and mix. On the other hand, mix the sodium bicarbonate with the wheat flour and sift over the mixture of eggs and sugar.

With the dry ingredients already sieved, we proceed to integrate everything very well, in my case use a fork, I find it easier to mix this type of dough with it. Once the dough is integrated, we proceed to make little balls, with the help of a spoon, and place them on a tray with baking paper, to take them to a preheated oven at 180 °C for 10 minutes, or until they start to brown underneath.

Remove from the oven and leave to cool for about 5 minutes to remove from the tray and enjoy a good cup of coffee, or a glass of cold milk, as I enjoy My Mathias.

As you can see it is a very simple recipe and in less than 30 minutes you have some delicious cookies to taste with family and friends, and why not, to feed that inner child who sometimes asks us for a treat, and best of all, without a drop of fat, How not to love these cookies?
