A Witch in the Kitchen: “Inventing in the Kitchen A Red Velvet Cake Without Egg”

Hello Dear Witches…!

The cake Red Velvet  , a cake of chocolate or cocoa, whose main characteristic is its typical and striking red color, and sometimes a red-brown (as I’m left to myself) and also filled with a delicious cream made from cream cheese, well that is the classic, and is not the one that today I will show you jajare jajare. And I don’t have eggs or butter and much less cream cheese to fill it, sad no!, but where others see a block to do something I want, I always look for a little window and the way to carry it out, and this time is no exception.

Although this is not the classic recipe, it is an adaptation that I made, because the desire to eat it seized me hahaha, is that today is Friday of cake at home, and the public acclaims it, then I said to myself hands to work, not to leave my father and My Mathias with the desire, with that we are practicing with him so that he goes extinguishing the candles, already is near his birthday. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose wheat flour
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 6 tablespoons sugar-free cocoa
  • 10 tablespoons corn oil
  • 2 teaspoons of sodium bicarbonate
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable dye in gel

Preparation

  • Difficulty level: Low
  • Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
  • Baking time: 40 Minutes
  • Total Time: 45 Minutes
  • Yield: 16 Portions

This cake has already been shown to you, and as I always tell you it is very easy, and as you can see, it adapts easily. To begin, in a bowl, we sift the wheat flour with the cocoa powder and the baking soda. I like to sift dry ingredients about three times, which brings more air into the mixture.

Add the sugar and mix to integrate very well, and with the help of a measuring cup, open 3 holes, and one place the vinegar in another oil and in the last vanilla.

We continue adding the milk and the coloring, we mix with the help of a beating balloon to integrate very well without beating too much. Pour the mixture into a previously floured mould and take it to a preheated oven at 180 °C for 40 minutes or until it comes out clean when a toothpick is inserted. Let it cool.

3 tablespoons of cream cheese, 3 tablespoons of sugar and the juice and rind of half a lemon, will be my companion in this adventure to try to emulate the frosting of a cake red velvet, we beat everything very well until we are a little liquid cream, with which we will bathe the cake to give a contrast of flavors, let me tell you that it did not fall bad at all, cut, serve and Voilá!, to enjoy this Delicious Emulation of Red Velvet hahahaha.

The reviews were good hahaha, it’s really rich. Observations for me, first, to add more coloring, so that the red is brighter, and second but not less important, to make more quantity, because miraculously they let me try hahaha.

The classic red velvet cake has black coffee, so if you want you can replace a cup of milk with a cup of coffee, whether you want to make it with vegetable milk, or even with water, the results are just as delicious. I have always found two flaws in this cake, one, which ends very quickly, as I said before, and another, that My Mathias literally becomes a cyclone, is activated a thousand percent, and then there is no way to calm it down hahaha.

Una Bruja en la Cocina: “Mi Abuela les llamaba Papas con Leche, Papas al Gratin”

Holaaa Mis Queridos Brujitos…!

A Witch in the Kitchen: “STEEM KITCHEN CONTEST #3 //My grandmother used to call them potatoes with milk, Gratin Potatoes

Hello Dear Witches…!

When they talk to me about cheerful and cheap food, my grandmother’s recipes always come to mind, it is that she made the kitchen something so simple, and with few ingredients she made delicious meals, which made the life of all those who could enjoy it, really all those who could enjoy her food always conclude the same thing, “Doña Pancha cooked delicious”, and it is not for nothing but in the kitchen my grandmother was more than a witch, she was a sorceress jajaja, she was all a sorceress jajaja, she made the kitchen something so simple, and with few ingredients she made delicious meals, which made the life of all those who could enjoy it, really all those who could enjoy her food always conclude the same thing, “Doña Pancha cooked delicious”, and it is not for nothing but in the kitchen my grandmother was more than a witch, she was a sorceress jajaja, she was all a sorceress jajaja, it is not for nothing.

I remember that he always prepared his potatoes with milk, because my dad loved them, that it was nothing more than a simple white sauce with potatoes and cheese, a really comforting dish, I incorporated some personal touches to his original recipe, adding onions to the sauce and gratin the preparation with mozzarella cheese, a really delicious combination of flavors.

This recipe does not require many ingredients and can be made in two by three, only 30 minutes needed to have it ready, but come with me and I show you how easy and fast it is to prepare. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  •  750 gr Potatoes
  • 1/3 cup wheat flour
  • 750 ml whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 Small onion
  • 1 Tsp of salt
  • 1 Pinch of ground black pepper
  • Mozzarella cheese to taste

Preparation

  • Difficulty level: Low
  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Baking time: 25 Minutes
  • Total Time: 30 Minutes
  •  Yield: 4 Portions

We begin by parboiling for 5 minutes, the potatoes that we have previously cut in cubes of 1 cm by 1 cm approximately. While the potatoes are cooking, add the butter and onions in another pot, which we fry until crystallized.

With the caramelized onions, add the wheat flour and cook it, stirring until it takes a beautiful golden color, at this point we are going to add the milk little by little, stirring constantly until our sauce thickens. When it begins to thicken add salt and pepper.

With the potatoes already cooked and our sauce ready, we only have to assemble our potatoes to take to the oven and grill, in the mold of your preference, add a portion of white sauce in the bottom and place the potatoes, which then bathe with sauce again until complete.

Crown with mozzarella cheese chopped into small cubes, and take to the oven preheated to 180 ° C for 10 minutes and then gratin until golden to taste, remove from oven and let rest about 15 minutes to enjoy. That’s how easy and fast we have this delicious dish ready.

A cheap and cheerful recipe, but above all easy. To elaborate this recipe you will need a approximately 410 BsS an approximate of 2$ Steem, 4 portions for this price, it is really economic. One of the reasons why I love this delicious recipe, besides bringing back very nice memories of my Beloved Grandmother.

A Witch in the Kitchen: “Auyama’s Cake //They’re gonna love it!!!”

Hello Dear Witches…!

My kitchen missed me, steemmonsters has me trapped hahahaha, but I left the game for a while to prepare this Delicious Auyama Cake, which besides being rich is very easy to prepare. I tell you that Mi Mathias drank so much auyama cream that now the only way for me to consume this wonderful vegetable is this way, and that is that it brings so many vitamins and nutrients to the diet, and what better way than to give it to him like this, he enjoys his piece of cake as much or more than a piece of chocolate.

Although I must confess that I’m not very fond of auyama either, I remember that when I first tried this cake, which my grandmother prepared, I fell in love with her and simply asked for more, it was something totally different from how I had consumed this vegetable before, between the deliciousness of the recipe and the love that my grandmother instilled in each recipe, it was a magical combination that gave another level to this dessert.

I wanted for days to prepare this delicious cake and share it with you, so that just like me you would fall in love with how easy and delicious it is, few ingredients and an extremely simple preparation, make this cake one of my favorite, but come with me and I show you how you can make it too, ¡Enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 750 gr of cooked auyama
  • 2 3/4 cup wheat flour
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons of vanilla
  • 1 tsp powdered cinnamon
  • 400 ml whole milk
  • 1/2 Cup of butter

Preparation

  • Difficulty level: Low
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Cooking time: 45 Minutes
  • Total Time: 55 Minutes
  • Yield: 20 Portions

To begin our preparation, sift the wheat flour with the baking powder, add half of the sugar and cinnamon, mix to integrate and reserve.

In a blender add the auyama pulp, vanilla and whole eggs. If you see that it is a lot, you can separate it in two.

Continue adding the whole milk and butter, process for about 5 minutes and pour into the dry ingredients that we have mixed and reserved. Integrate with the help of a beating balloon or you can serve a palette, the important thing is that there are no lumps in the preparation.

Place the mixture in previously floured moulds, or if you prefer you can use a mould with caramel on the bottom, and cook in a bain-marie in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 45 minutes or until a toothpick is ins Jerted and comes out clean.

We let it cool down to demould and  Voilá! to enjoy, I particularly like to put the mixture in molds with caramel, because it gives it an extra touch of flavor, however in this opportunity I did not prepare it that way so that Mi Mathias would eat it without any problem, but at the moment of serving I added a touch of caramel syrup, the combination of flavors is delicious.

This was my grandmother’s favorite cake and it’s my aunt’s favorite, plus I found out it was @the01crow’s favorite cake out there, I hope to be able to invite you a good portion of this delicious cake at some point. It really is a Delight that I hope you can try.

Una Bruja en La Cocina: Torta de Auyama // ¡¡¡Les va a Encantar!!!

Holaaa Mis Queridos Brujitos…!

A Witch in the Kitchen: “Do you have Old Bread? Do not throw it away! Learn to prepare this DELICIOUS BUDDIN OF BREAD!

Hello My dear Warlocks…!

Happy Tuesday, sweet Tuesday, to start off on a good footing, a few days ago I prepared some sandwiches and I left some loaves that hardened, because no one wanted them, but it occurred to me to prepare this delicious recipe, that you can make it with any kind of old bread, or bread that you have left the previous day, although at home they never leave, they always eat it with the coffee hahahaha, in order as always a sweet is needed to offer the visit, Make this  Delicious Bread Pudding

The favorite dessert of my dad and my brother, to this last one I must hide it, because it does not leave for anyone if I neglect, a recipe very easy to make, with simple ingredients, and with baking in oven that is one of the easiest things we have in the kitchen. For what we have come my loves, join me and I show you the development of this delicious dessert.  Enjoy! .

Ingredients

  • 4 Breads brioche approx 500 gr
  • 1 Cup of sugar
  • 1 Liter of milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Kind of baking powder
  • 1/2 Cup of raisins of grapes
  • 3 Tbsp sugar (for candy)

  • Preparation Time: 30 Minutes

  • Total Time: 90 Minutes

Witch in the Kitchen: “Vegan Pudding of Lemon // A Healthy and DELICIOUS Sin”

Hello My dear Warlocks…!

Another healthy peccadito for you my loves, be they vegan or not, this is undoubtedly a dessert that you must try, of easy preparation, with few ingredients and with a delicious result. Always, I like to give options for all kinds of diners, we never know if our guests have a vegan, or a person intolerant to the egg, also this is also an economic preparation.

Few ingredients, easy preparation and delicious result, make this pudding one of my favorite desserts. I like to always have something to offer to those who visit me, besides having this kind of recipes to give to My Mathias for your snacks, it can be made as a birthday cake, everything depends on your preference. But enough of that, blah blah and join me to show you how to make this delicious recipe,  Enjoy!

Ingredients

  •  2 1/2 Cup of wheat flour
  •  1 1/2 tsp. of baking powder
  •  3/4 Cup of Sugar
  •  1 Cup of sunflower or corn oil
  •  1/2 cup of water

Preparation

  • Difficulty level:  Low
  • Preparation Time:  10 Minutes
  • Cooking Time:  40 Minutes
  • Total Time:  50 Minutes
  • Performance:  10 Servings

To say that this is an easy preparation, is already redundant, but it certainly is, to start in a bowl or bowl, place the sugar and add the oil, water and lemon zest.

With the help of an electric beater, or you can serve us a balloon whisk, we beat after about 2 minutes to dissolve the sugar and emulsify our liquid ingredients well. On the other hand we sieve the dry ingredients and we are integrating in two parts the mixture we have with the sugar.

We continue beating until the dry ingredients are integrated, and obtain a dough very similar to that of cookies, and dump in a previously floured mold, to bring to a pre-heated oven at 180 ° C for 40 minutes, or until when introducing a toothpick this one comes out clean. And  Voilá!, it’s that easy to have our Delicious Lemon Vegan Pudding  ready.

The result of the dough, can make them think that they have a pudding cake, but the amount of baking powder, helps to keep us fluffy, smooth and with the right moisture, to make this a delicious lemon pudding. I can assure you that you will not regret trying it, and you will be eager to prepare it a few times.

A Witch in the Kitchen: “The Wrapped Children of My Grandmother Pancha”

Hello My dear Warlocks…!

As a little girl I remember that my grandmother prepared slices of ripe banana with cheese overflowing in a dough made from wheat flour, and I simply asked for more, I did not worry about knowing what they were called. As a teenager I asked him one day for the name of that delicious dish, he answered  Children Wrapped! , and even today’s sun so I keep calling him.

It is a recipe very similar to the typical  Aborrajados  typical of Colombian gastronomy, with the difference that they put some kind of jam, In my case, we do not do it like that, because we prepare it with a very ripe banana, those that have black skin and that many rather waste, those have the appropriate sweet for this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3 Ripe bananas
  • 2 Wheat flour cups
  • 1 Eggs
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of salt
  • 1 Teaspoon of sugar
  • 300 grams of mozzarella cheese
  • Wooden sticks

Preparation

  • Difficulty Level:  Low
  • Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
  • Cooking Time: 30 Minutes
  • Total Time:  35 Minutes
  • Performance:  15 Children Wrapped

Peel and prick the plantains about 8 mm thick, and cut into canes about 2 cm wide by half a centimeter thick.

Fry the chops in plenty of hot oil and let cool, with the fried chops already cold, start to assemble, for which we place the cheese on the slices and cover with another slice, making a kind of sandwich with these.

While we wait for the chops to cool, we have prepared a mixture to overflow our children, for which we add a cup and a half of wheat flour mixed with salt and sugar and add the egg and water, beating until everything is well integrated.

With our “sandwich” of banana and cheese, and help of some wooden sticks, we are fixing them so they do not disarm, and we go through wheat flour, and then through the mixture that we have prepared with flour and egg.

After having overflowed our bananas with the cheese, fry them in enough hot oil, until browning on both sides, this will take about 3 minutes per side, remove the excess salt and  Voilá!  we have ready Our delicious Kids Wrapped, well that’s what my grandmother called them.

Ideal to accompany a Creole pavilion, and even to taste alone, they are really delicious, the favorites of my brother and my father, and best of all, when preparing them, the memory of my beloved Grandma Pancha feels alive.

Una Bruja en la Cocina: “Los Niños Envueltos de Mi Abuela Pancha”

Holaaa Mis queridos Brujitos…!

  • 1 Sugar cup
  • 1/2 Cup of cocoa without sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 50 ml of corn or sunflower oil
  • 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Tablespoons of sugar glass
  • 1 Teaspoon of baking powder

Preparation

  •  Difficulty level:  Low
  • Preparation Time:  10 Minutes
  • Cooking Time:  15 Minutes
  •  Total Time:  25 Minutes
  •  Performance: 40 Small cookies

In a bowl add oil, followed by sugar and eggs, and beat very well to integrate everything, you can use an electric beater if you wish, but with a manual you get the result in about 3 minutes.

With the well integrated ingredients add the vanilla, beat again and continue adding, previously sieved, the dry ingredients, and with the help of a spatula mix to integrate everything very well.

With our already homogeneous dough, we only have to form our cookies, for this we will use a spoon, taking small portions of the dough and giving it a ball shape, then we pass it through the glass sugar until it is completely covered and we have it on a tray in which preferably we will place baking paper.

We place the cookies leaving about 5 cm of distance between each of them, they grow in the oven. We take a pre-heated oven to 180 ° C for 15 minutes, and  Voilá! , we have our beautiful and delicious cracked chocolate cookies ready.

Really prepare cookies, is one of the things I like most in the kitchen, they are very easy to make, they fill a delicious aroma throughout the house, and they even help me integrate the family when preparing them, the only bad thing is that When they help me, the cookies last less hahaha. These cookies are ideal for a rich cup of coffee, or a cold glass of milk. They really are delicious.
