Una Bruja en la Cocina: Bizcocho Básico de Chocolate, Un Clásico DELICIOSO

Holaaa Mis Queridos Brujitos…!

Holaaa Mis Queridos Brujitos…!

A Witch in the Kitchen: “STEEM KITCHEN CONTEST #4 //A Cheap and Cheerful Recipe, PASTA CHICHA

Hello Dear Witches…!

In my country Venezuela, you can find a chicha cart in every corner where there is a school, because this delicious drink based on pasta or rice, is the favorite of the smallest of the house, and to tell the truth of many adults too, not to go too far, preparing this one that I will show you next, the eyes of my brothers lit up like a pair of lanterns hahaha, they are fanatics of a rich chicha.

There are even sellers of chicha who go by bicycle or motorbike selling chicha wherever they go, and they usually have a very noisy bugle, which most people recognize, and when they hear it the little ones run away very happily to buy their glass of chicha, or well, to ask mom and dad to buy them, they really are very pleasant the memories that this recipe brings me from my childhood, because I remember when I went out of school with my friends to take chicha while we waited for the bus back home.

A very cheerful recipe and also very cheap, and I know many who replace a breakfast or lunch for a good glass of this delicious drink. But come with me and I’ll show you how to prepare it, you’ll see how easy it is. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  •  300 gr of paste (the one of your preference)
  • Sugar to taste
  • Milk powder to taste
  • 1/2 lemon skin
  • Canela to taste (optional)
  • Vainilla to taste
  • 2 Litres of water for cooking

Preparation

  • Difficulty level: Low
  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Baking time: 20 Minutes
  • Total Time: 25 Minutes
  •  Yield: 4 Litres of Chicha

To begin this preparation, we add the skin of half a lemon in the water that we have placed in the stove, to take to boil, when this boiling we will add the pasta, that we will stir and we will leave to cook for about 20 minutes to medium fire. Turn off and leave to cool.

With our already cold pasta, which has become a compact mass, with the help of a spoon we are taking portions and adding in the blender, we add sugar.

We continue adding powdered milk, powdered cinnamon and vanilla to taste, necessary amount of ice water and process in the blender for about 5 minutes, or until they do not feel lumpy in our shake.

It’s so simple it looks like a lie, that’s what makes it even happier. After blending everything very well we only have to serve with a lot of crushed ice and enjoy. My personal touch, spreading the glasses with a little chocolate ganache and sprinkle with cinnamon, simply gives it a great touch.

A cheap and cheerful recipe, but above all easy. To elaborate this recipe you will need a 100 BsS approximately 2$ Steem, in a cart of chicha of which I mentioned previously a portion of this equivalent to 500 ml is around the same 100 BsS that cost me to prepare 4 liters, making this recipe much cheaper. It is ideal for a good snack, or to receive our children when they arrive from school exhausted.

A Witch in the Kitchen: “Pumpkin Vegetable Biscuits “

Hello Dear Witches…!

Delicious biscuits never hurt, especially if they are accompanied by a good cup of coffee, and these that I come to show you today are definitely DELICIOUS, very easy to make and the best of all, economical, because they do not contain eggs, milk or butter, so with less than 1/3 of what you would buy a package of biscuits you can prepare these that are really delicious, as well as nutritious.

I tell you that Mi Mathias and my brother abhor pumpkin or auyama, do not tolerate it in salty preparations, so I risked to prepare them to see if my baby accepted them, and his verdict was “mama, mas”, and for his part my brother disappeared half of the tray in a matter of minutes, (they had to see his face when he found out they were), so based on this I can say that it is perfect for introducing this vegetable nutrient in the diet of the youngest, because also the sugar content is minimal, but come with me to see how I prepare these cookies. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 500 gr steam or roasted pumpkin pulp
  • 1/2 Cup of sugar
  • 1/2 Cup corn oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 tsp. grated fresh ginger

Preparation

  • Difficulty level: Low
  • Preparation Time: 10 Minutes
  • Baking time: 15 Minutes
  • Total Time: 25 Minutes
  • Yield: 40 Biscuits

To begin we crush the pulp of the pumpkin with a pureed pisa or a fork, until we are without lumps, and add the sugar and oil, and with the help of a beating balloon or an electric mixer, we beat very well until obtaining a cream.

Once our cream is obtained, add the cinnamon, vanilla essence and ginger and mix well, then add the dry ingredients that are the flour along with the baking powder, this we will do with the help of a sieve and in two parts, mixing with the help of a spatula.

Once the dry ingredients have been integrated, we have our dough ready, we continue forming little balls with the dough and placing them in a tray with a little oil in the bottom, to take them to a preheated oven at 180 °C, for 15 minutes, and Voilá!, ready our Delicious Pumpkin Biscuits.

As you can see is a recipe very easy to make, with few ingredients, economical and especially very nutritious, does not need the addition of large amounts of sweeteners because the pumpkin has a natural sweetness that helps a lot. Accompanied by a rich cup of tea or coffee, they are great for a rich snack for the older ones. And you, what would you accompany them with?

Tips of the Day

  • Chocolate chips look great on these cookies.
  • If you can’t tolerate gluten, you can replace wheat flour with rice or oatmeal and they are just as delicious.
  • You can take the dough to the fridge for half an hour after it has been prepared and then stretch it to use figure cutters, and make them more attractive to the little ones.

A Witch in the Kitchen: “Inventing in the Kitchen A Red Velvet Cake Without Egg”

Hello Dear Witches…!

The cake Red Velvet  , a cake of chocolate or cocoa, whose main characteristic is its typical and striking red color, and sometimes a red-brown (as I’m left to myself) and also filled with a delicious cream made from cream cheese, well that is the classic, and is not the one that today I will show you jajare jajare. And I don’t have eggs or butter and much less cream cheese to fill it, sad no!, but where others see a block to do something I want, I always look for a little window and the way to carry it out, and this time is no exception.

Although this is not the classic recipe, it is an adaptation that I made, because the desire to eat it seized me hahaha, is that today is Friday of cake at home, and the public acclaims it, then I said to myself hands to work, not to leave my father and My Mathias with the desire, with that we are practicing with him so that he goes extinguishing the candles, already is near his birthday. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose wheat flour
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 6 tablespoons sugar-free cocoa
  • 10 tablespoons corn oil
  • 2 teaspoons of sodium bicarbonate
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable dye in gel

Preparation

  • Difficulty level: Low
  • Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
  • Baking time: 40 Minutes
  • Total Time: 45 Minutes
  • Yield: 16 Portions

This cake has already been shown to you, and as I always tell you it is very easy, and as you can see, it adapts easily. To begin, in a bowl, we sift the wheat flour with the cocoa powder and the baking soda. I like to sift dry ingredients about three times, which brings more air into the mixture.

Add the sugar and mix to integrate very well, and with the help of a measuring cup, open 3 holes, and one place the vinegar in another oil and in the last vanilla.

We continue adding the milk and the coloring, we mix with the help of a beating balloon to integrate very well without beating too much. Pour the mixture into a previously floured mould and take it to a preheated oven at 180 °C for 40 minutes or until it comes out clean when a toothpick is inserted. Let it cool.

3 tablespoons of cream cheese, 3 tablespoons of sugar and the juice and rind of half a lemon, will be my companion in this adventure to try to emulate the frosting of a cake red velvet, we beat everything very well until we are a little liquid cream, with which we will bathe the cake to give a contrast of flavors, let me tell you that it did not fall bad at all, cut, serve and Voilá!, to enjoy this Delicious Emulation of Red Velvet hahahaha.

The reviews were good hahaha, it’s really rich. Observations for me, first, to add more coloring, so that the red is brighter, and second but not less important, to make more quantity, because miraculously they let me try hahaha.

The classic red velvet cake has black coffee, so if you want you can replace a cup of milk with a cup of coffee, whether you want to make it with vegetable milk, or even with water, the results are just as delicious. I have always found two flaws in this cake, one, which ends very quickly, as I said before, and another, that My Mathias literally becomes a cyclone, is activated a thousand percent, and then there is no way to calm it down hahaha.

Una Bruja en la Cocina: “Mi Abuela les llamaba Papas con Leche, Papas al Gratin”

Holaaa Mis Queridos Brujitos…!

Hello Dear Witches…!

When they talk to me about cheerful and cheap food, my grandmother’s recipes always come to mind, it is that she made the kitchen something so simple, and with few ingredients she made delicious meals, which made the life of all those who could enjoy it, really all those who could enjoy her food always conclude the same thing, “Doña Pancha cooked delicious”, and it is not for nothing but in the kitchen my grandmother was more than a witch, she was a sorceress jajaja, she was all a sorceress jajaja, she made the kitchen something so simple, and with few ingredients she made delicious meals, which made the life of all those who could enjoy it, really all those who could enjoy her food always conclude the same thing, “Doña Pancha cooked delicious”, and it is not for nothing but in the kitchen my grandmother was more than a witch, she was a sorceress jajaja, she was all a sorceress jajaja, it is not for nothing.

I remember that he always prepared his potatoes with milk, because my dad loved them, that it was nothing more than a simple white sauce with potatoes and cheese, a really comforting dish, I incorporated some personal touches to his original recipe, adding onions to the sauce and gratin the preparation with mozzarella cheese, a really delicious combination of flavors.

This recipe does not require many ingredients and can be made in two by three, only 30 minutes needed to have it ready, but come with me and I show you how easy and fast it is to prepare. Enjoy!

With the caramelized onions, add the wheat flour and cook it, stirring until it takes a beautiful golden color, at this point we are going to add the milk little by little, stirring constantly until our sauce thickens. When it begins to thicken add salt and pepper.

With the potatoes already cooked and our sauce ready, we only have to assemble our potatoes to take to the oven and grill, in the mold of your preference, add a portion of white sauce in the bottom and place the potatoes, which then bathe with sauce again until complete.

A Witch in the Kitchen: “Auyama’s Cake //They’re gonna love it!!!”

Hello Dear Witches…!

My kitchen missed me, steemmonsters has me trapped hahahaha, but I left the game for a while to prepare this Delicious Auyama Cake, which besides being rich is very easy to prepare. I tell you that Mi Mathias drank so much auyama cream that now the only way for me to consume this wonderful vegetable is this way, and that is that it brings so many vitamins and nutrients to the diet, and what better way than to give it to him like this, he enjoys his piece of cake as much or more than a piece of chocolate.

Although I must confess that I’m not very fond of auyama either, I remember that when I first tried this cake, which my grandmother prepared, I fell in love with her and simply asked for more, it was something totally different from how I had consumed this vegetable before, between the deliciousness of the recipe and the love that my grandmother instilled in each recipe, it was a magical combination that gave another level to this dessert.

I wanted for days to prepare this delicious cake and share it with you, so that just like me you would fall in love with how easy and delicious it is, few ingredients and an extremely simple preparation, make this cake one of my favorite, but come with me and I show you how you can make it too, ¡Enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 750 gr of cooked auyama
  • 2 3/4 cup wheat flour
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons of vanilla
  • 1 tsp powdered cinnamon
  • 400 ml whole milk
  • 1/2 Cup of butter

Preparation

  • Difficulty level: Low
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Cooking time: 45 Minutes
  • Total Time: 55 Minutes
  • Yield: 20 Portions

To begin our preparation, sift the wheat flour with the baking powder, add half of the sugar and cinnamon, mix to integrate and reserve.

In a blender add the auyama pulp, vanilla and whole eggs. If you see that it is a lot, you can separate it in two.

Continue adding the whole milk and butter, process for about 5 minutes and pour into the dry ingredients that we have mixed and reserved. Integrate with the help of a beating balloon or you can serve a palette, the important thing is that there are no lumps in the preparation.

Place the mixture in previously floured moulds, or if you prefer you can use a mould with caramel on the bottom, and cook in a bain-marie in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 45 minutes or until a toothpick is ins Jerted and comes out clean.

We let it cool down to demould and  Voilá! to enjoy, I particularly like to put the mixture in molds with caramel, because it gives it an extra touch of flavor, however in this opportunity I did not prepare it that way so that Mi Mathias would eat it without any problem, but at the moment of serving I added a touch of caramel syrup, the combination of flavors is delicious.

This was my grandmother’s favorite cake and it’s my aunt’s favorite, plus I found out it was @the01crow’s favorite cake out there, I hope to be able to invite you a good portion of this delicious cake at some point. It really is a Delight that I hope you can try.

Una Bruja en La Cocina: Torta de Auyama // ¡¡¡Les va a Encantar!!!

Holaaa Mis Queridos Brujitos…!

The favorite dessert of my dad and my brother, to this last one I must hide it, because it does not leave for anyone if I neglect, a recipe very easy to make, with simple ingredients, and with baking in oven that is one of the easiest things we have in the kitchen. For what we have come my loves, join me and I show you the development of this delicious dessert.  Enjoy! .

  • Difficulty Level: Low
  • Preparation Time: 30 Minutes

To start with our preparation, cut the cubed bread, the size you want, add the sugar to the milk and integrate, and pour this preparation on the bread, the idea is that it is well wet, we will leave soaking for about 20 minutes . While we are preparing the candy for the mold that we will usJ.

With the bread well soaked, we proceed to mix the eggs with the vanilla, add the baking powder to the mixture of bread, milk and sugar, and proceed to mix the eggs with the vanilla and then add them to the mixture and integrate well.

Finally add the raisins, this time use a mixture that I always have macerating in wine, raisins of grapes and candied fruits, which give a magical touch to the preparation, stir well to integrate the raisins into the mixture and we only have arrange the molds with the candy in a tray, to place the mixture.

Fill the mold up to one third of its height, and take it to a pre-heated oven at 180 ° C, on a tray with hot water, to bake in a bain-marie for 60 minutes, or until you insert a toothpick and it comes out clean.

Let it cool a couple of hours before unmolding, and  Voilá!, ready to enjoy our Delicious Bread Pudding, ideal to accompany a rich cup of coffee, or a good glass of cold milk, to offer to the visit or to eat it alone, this is one of the desserts that without a doubt, must try.
